Middle School Student Council
I was elected Grade 6 Representative on the Middle School Student Council. My campaign slogan was “SIS”: unite with new Students, Include all ideas, and be Supportive together.
Our council meets every Monday at lunch. To keep the school snack bar orderly during busy recess times, our council made a video showing students how to line up and use it. We are now preparing a Halloween Spirit Week and a Pepero Day event on November 11, a popular day in Korea. Building on the movie night idea from my campaign, I am also helping plan an event that connects a movie night with a year-end donation drive for our local community.

Hello. This is Jian Shin and I am a candidate for the Middle School Student Council.
Have you seen my slogan yet?
If so, you know that it is SIS! It means that we, the Middle School of Seoul International School, have the power to unite with new students, S, include all ideas, I, and be supportive together, S.
I have an activity planned for each of these.
First, we all know what it’s like to be in a new environment, whether it’s a school, home, or country. And so that is why I believe we should host a movie and game night so we can build deeper connections with new students. Yes, I said night, a night party.
My second activity is that you can choose what exactly to do, in a google form vote. Not only will the first activity be entertaining, it will be customized!
My last suggestion combines helping and fun. For example, we can go to a senior center and volunteer, like a talent show. Do you know why? We have been given so much love from our school, and I believe that it is now time to start giving back. Trust me. I have experience, it will be fun and also elevating. Don't you guys like going somewhere and doing something together?
And at this time, all of this may seem impossible, but it is possible, with cooperation and effort from everyone. I will promise you to make Seoul International School regularly use the power to unite with all students, include all ideas, and be supportive together in the SIS way.
Remember, it all comes down to our school as a community, cooperating together. Thank you, all of you, for listening. Vote for Jian Shin!
