Community Service and Volunteer Activities

Performing demonstrations

Since 2025, I have performed with demonstration teams in Korea. With Team YJY & Team Korea in Suwon, I performed a freestyle poomsae demonstration, and with Team Adidas Doboksori in Incheon, I performed poomsae and board-breaking. In October 2026, I performed with Team Adidas Doboksori and JL Taekwondo at a local festival in Gwacheon.

Hosting the Korean National Team

During the 2025 U.S. Open Taekwondo Championships, my family hosted members of the Korean National Taekwondo Freestyle Poomsae Team. My family and I helped with transportation and local activities during their visit to Los Angeles and Reno.

Their U.S. Open journey was filmed for KBS Human Theater, a documentary program on South Korea’s national public broadcaster, and aired nationwide in March 2025.

Supporting tournaments as staff

For three years in a row, I volunteered as staff at the California International Open Taekwondo Championships, organized by The K.S. Choi Foundation for the Arts. I helped with tournament operations and event support, from setting up to packing away the competition mats.

Concerts for senior residents

Through N’spire with Music, I perform vocal music at outreach concerts for senior residents in Los Angeles. I first sang at Villa Sorrento in 2023, then performed at three concerts at Clearwater South Bay in the summer of 2026.

My role grew with each concert. In July, I also prepared goodie bags for the residents, and in August, I served as the event MC as well.

Christmas choir in Seoul

As a member of the SIS Junior Choir at Seoul International School, I sang in a Christmas choir performance at the Hyatt Hotel in Seoul.

Harbor Animal Services

With Cub Scout Pack 970, I helped care for animals at Harbor Animal Services in Los Angeles. Our pack also organized donations of pet food, blankets, and other essential supplies for the shelter.
